Privacy, in plain language.

This site is deliberately quiet: no tracking cookies, no advertising, no social-media embeds, no profiling across other sites. The one measurement tool it uses is cookieless and cannot identify you. Fonts are served from this domain, not from Google. What little data it does process is described below.

2. Contact form

If you use the contact form, I process the data you enter (name, email address, your message) solely to answer you and to handle whatever engagement follows. The message is delivered by email and stored in my mailbox.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(b) GDPR (steps prior to entering into a contract, taken at your request), and Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in responding to enquiries).

3. Server logs

Like practically every website, the infrastructure serving this site records technical access data: IP address, date and time, requested URL, browser identification. These logs exist for security and operations, are not merged with other data, and rotate on a short cycle.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (secure and reliable operation of the site).

4. Analytics

This site uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count pageviews and see which pages actually get read. It sets no cookies, stores nothing in your browser, does not fingerprint your device, and does not follow you to other sites. The numbers it produces are aggregate and cannot be traced back to you.

Legal basis: Art. 6 (1)(f) GDPR (my legitimate interest in understanding, at an aggregate level, how the site is used).

5. Service providers

• Cloudflare, Inc.: DNS, content delivery, cookieless web analytics and email forwarding. Traffic to this site passes through Cloudflare's network.
• DigitalOcean, LLC: hosting of the web server.
• Google LLC: mailbox provider; messages sent to [email protected] are stored there.

These providers may process data outside the EU/EEA. They do so under their respective standard contractual clauses and data-processing terms.

6. Retention

Contact correspondence is kept for as long as needed to handle your request and any engagement that follows, then deleted. Server logs are retained only briefly by the providers named above.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and objection to processing based on legitimate interest. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data-protection supervisory authority.
